Your support keeps grief support available at no cost for children and families after the death of a loved one. We couldn’t do this without our community giving their time, talents and financial support.
Joining our team and supporting our mission in person is a great way to get involved. We are always looking for volunteer facilitators to be with each group. We are also currently looking for Board Members and Event Committee members.
Our school-based groups are an essential part of what we do. Many families can’t manage the travel and time required for evening group nights, so bringing grief support into schools allows us to reach far more children where they already are.
Our Annual Giving Hope Gala in November is a great opportunity to learn more about Dustin’s Place. Each year in November we also have our community awareness events in honor of National Children’s Grief Awareness Month.
Every group night our children’s groups create something to remember their time together, the topics they discuss, and to remember they are not alone in their grief journey. These craft items help during the time between groups.
Finances should never be a barrier as to why someone can not receive the grief support they need. Our groups will always be free. It costs approximately $572 a year to provide free grief support to one child. Your donation directly helps us continue our mission.
Let people know who we are. Share with your co-workers, community organizations, church and everyone you know. Invite us to present at a staff meeting, lunch or organization monthly meeting. Share our social media posts and hang up our flyers.
