Dustin loved the Lord, and his relationship with Jesus truly defined how he loved others. He lived a selfless life, dedicated to serving those around him, whether that was his family, his friends, or his third-shift coworkers. Dustin had a way of making people feel valued simply by showing up and caring well.
Dustin will always be remembered for his full-body, loud laugh and his ability to calm any situation he was placed into. He spent his adult life working at a residential facility for at-risk youth, where his heart for children was evident in everything he did, reading to young kids, shooting hoops with teenagers or playing cards with coworkers. No matter the setting, Dustin was committed to making sure everyone felt seen and knew they mattered.
As a father, Dustin took great pride in being present and not missing a moment. This often looked like coaching his children’s sports teams, where his passion was unmistakable. If you ever watched Dustin coach, you remember how deeply he cared for every child on the team, working hard to help each one reach their fullest potential.
This is why the mission of Dustin’s Place is so important: ensuring no child grieves alone and every child feels seen.
